Plymouth With Kids: A Day That Actually Works
Updated September 24, 2026
The trick to a kid day in Plymouth is alternating outside and inside. Here is a run that does it.
## Start outside
Plymouth Township Park at 46640 W Ann Arbor Trail is the anchor: open space, room to run, and in winter the sled hill at the same address is the best free afternoon in town. Downtown, Kellogg Park on W Ann Arbor Trail is smaller but central, and it is where most downtown mornings end up.
For something greener, Plymouth Riverside Recreation Area at 42401 Edward N Hines Dr and Wilcox Lake Hines Park Recreation Area at 14157 Edward N Hines Dr follow the Rouge along Hines Drive.
## Snack break
Boule Artisan Bakery at 880 W Ann Arbor Trail and Helen's Bakery at 963 W Ann Arbor Trail are both on the walk back into downtown. Grand Traverse Pie Company at 41640 Ann Arbor Rd is the sit-down version — patio tables, a kids-friendly room, and pie.
## When the weather turns
Plaza Lanes at 42001 Ann Arbor Rd is the rainy-afternoon answer: bowling, bumpers, food at the table. If your kids are the climbing-and-tumbling type, The Ninja's Edge at 45677 Helm St and Hoopdrillz at 44191 Plymouth Oaks Blvd run indoor sessions.
## Dinner
Main Street Pizza at 1070 S Main St and Sammy's Pizza at 40420 Five Mile Rd are the two highest-rated pizza rooms in town. Downtown, Pizza e Vino at 849 Penniman Ave has a patio if you want the adults to have a glass of wine while it happens.
For breakfast-for-dinner energy, Omelette & Waffle Cafe at 580 Forest Ave and Plymouth's Brunch House at 880 Fralick St both have high chairs and short waits.
## Keep it short
Two stops before lunch, one after. Plymouth is compact enough that bailing early costs you nothing.
