A Dog-Friendly Day in Plymouth, MI
Updated September 24, 2026
Plymouth is an easy dog town: two long park systems, a compact downtown, and a decent number of patios that allow dogs outside. Every stop below is confirmed dog-friendly at its outdoor tables or is open parkland.
## Morning walk
Plymouth Riverside Recreation Area at 42401 Edward N Hines Dr and Wilcox Lake Hines Park Recreation Area at 14157 Edward N Hines Dr sit along Hines Drive and give you the longest uninterrupted walk in the area. Start there while it is quiet.
## Coffee stop
Plymouth Coffee Bean at 884 Penniman Ave allows dogs at the outdoor tables and is right in the middle of downtown. Meridian Coffee Co. at 636 Starkweather St in Old Village does the same in a quieter spot, and Plymouth Roast at 110 Ann Arbor Rd is the third option.
## Midday in the park
Kellogg Park on W Ann Arbor Trail is the downtown breather — a lap around the fountain, a bench, and the whole business district a few steps away. Plymouth Township Park at 46640 W Ann Arbor Trail is the bigger version if your dog still has energy.
## Lunch outside
Beyond Borders Latin Street Food at 810 S Main St welcomes dogs and serves fast. The Burger Spot at 550 Forest Ave and DownTown Pourhouse at 860 Fralick St are the burger-and-a-patio versions.
## Late afternoon
Park Place Gastropub at 336 S Main St and Sean O'Callaghan's Public House at 821 Penniman Ave both allow dogs at their outdoor seating, which makes them the natural end to the day. Crawford's Kitchen at 542 Starkweather St covers it if you are back in Old Village.
## Bring
Water, a short leash for the patios, and a towel for Hines Drive after rain — the river trails hold mud longer than you would expect.
